Literature Circle Response #2
There were three main settings. One was the starting point which was England. England seems realistic because it is a real country which took part in the crusades. This affected it because to was dominated by christianity so the main chaacter Edmund went to the crusades. The second setting was on the ship, Sant' Agnese. The ship was realistic because ships were used to transport goods and soldiers in those days. This affected the story because many people died or got sick because of the hardships on the ship. For example the main character, Edmund, got sick because of the ship. Also a subordinate chracter called Miles died because he went overboard due to a hurricane. Finally, the last setting was Venice. This setting was realistic because Venice is a real city and a port for ships. This setting affected the main characters because the main characters were from England and they felt like outcasts in the crowd of the Venetians.
