Can anyone recommend a dvd ripper that takes the videos from dvd and saves them as good quality avi files? And for anyone whose going to preach about copyright, these are my dvds that I have bought. I figure I should be allowed to watch them although my capability to keep a disk in good condition is limited.

Ripping DVD I usually use Movkit DVD copy. because it lets me rip dvd easily, and it allows me rip DVD to other popular video formats such h264, Xvid, MOV, VOB, Mpeg, Mpeg4, Mpeg TS, AVI, WMV, and so on.
so I can watch dvd movies on portable player like iPod, iPhone psp etc. conveniently. it can divides dvd into different chapters, I can rip my I favorite ones. in addtion to, it can copy whole DVD to hard disc.

What video converter can convert nearly all video files to mp4 which can be played on your psp?
Im looking for a video converter. I have pspvideo9 but i can do what i want to.

So i answer:
if you want put the video on your PSP, make sure the video formats are UMD and MPEG-4,because the psp only support the two video formats.
If the answer is yes, just use the psp software, then you can transfer them to your psp easily.
if the answer is no, you need a psp video convert software to help you.You can search such software on http://www.google.com or http://www.yahoo.com

Otherwise,I recommend you to try Movkit Video to PSP Converter which a friend told me.It works for me well. It could help me convert video to PSP video formats with only three steps. Also let me set the movie effects, Crop/ Trim video.
You can see detail and free download it here:video converter

certainly, I will offer you more options
I hope this may help you.
