| My daily thoughts and activities - to more or less help bring my thoughts together and maybe think things through better. It should be interesting to look at later. |

It is nice to have the day off and just laze a around and check things out in general. I would like to get a letter to Nolan and finish the new entries for Schimmele. It is supposed to be hot so I may turn on the AC and just relax. My foot seems somewhat better this morning - though still tender at times. Some of the most memorable fourths were going to the Rodeo at Guffey - my first ice cream cone. The rodeos at Taylor's and they stuck around for the dance on that sort of pine board platform. I remember the guy trying to catch a ride and Pappy speeding up and leaving him. Everyone parked around the corral and when Christophers parked their Nash coupe it went down a little dip and Mrs Christopher let out a yip people could hear all over the place. We had fire crackers and cap guns. There were other kids around but I don't remember anything specific. I am sure Mom packed a lunch but I don't remember eating it. There was orange pop on ice but I don't remember getting any. Once at Guffey I drank some cherry juice out of a metal bucket and that night I threw up. Several times we went to Grampys and waited until dark to walk across the Royal Gorge bridge after they had hung lights around on the canyon walls. Once there was a rodeo on Eight Mile and Grampy had a sort of pop stand and he did so well that he set eventually up in the gas station and little store. Oh the memories of that place! I got a letter out to Nolan and he called me along in the afternoon. His latest interest is hydroponics that we could start in Vancouver. He is really set on moving to Canada. It was pretty hot so I turned on the AC. I worked on the Schimmele Dairy. I ate at Grannys and it was okay a Malibu chicken that was too much. Bought some rolls and ice cream at Safeway, the ink cartridges at Walmart and checked out BiMart and some medicine at RiteAid. My foot is not better and in fact seems to be going up my ankle. I looked for some gout medicine I stayed around the house mostly. Trisha called me and said she was at her mother's with her baby. That was a little too much to me and I told her I had company. I could hear the disappointment in her voice - poor kid. I felt guilty about it but they have pretty much distanced themselves from me in the past five or six years. There is really no need to kick that up again. I watched Breaking and Entering which was a story about some kids breaking into an architect office and one of the guys in the office had an affair with his mother. It was probably all right but somehow I was not in the mood. The Most Memorable Positive Moment was hearinbg from Nolan. He is never without ideas. I guess he has a promotion and he is one level below the top. | ||
