| My daily thoughts and activities - to more or less help bring my thoughts together and maybe think things through better. It should be interesting to look at later. |

I am heading out for my last Friday visit with Michael. It looks like a an easy trip even though it will be on the hot side. I have plenty of writing to do when I get back which will be fairly late I should imagine. I got a pretty good start at seven thirty and stopped by Space Age and spent about $65 on gas and headed on down the highway. I got to Salem around twelve fifteen and gassed up for another $37. Sat by the duck pond for twenty minutes and then made my move. I called the people in charge and then waited until one fifteen. The fat guy came and when he let me in he said no visits had been scheduled. After some checking it came out that I was a "friend" on the visitor list and not a grandfather. They were going to send me around to the superintendent but it would have taken four week to get the approval so as long as I could not see him today there was not much use to stay around. I headed back home disappointed but figured I had been pretty lucky to get to see him at least five times since last August. They said they would pass on the fact that I had been by and had been turned back. We'll just have to see what he says about it. Stopped at Cousins and had SupperLunch and hit Hermiston about six and it was very smokey. There must have been a serious fire around here. I got a MO for Nolan and came on home. There was a letter from Michael with the resume sort of fleshed out. I'll get it together on Sunday and send it back. He said his brother had been back for a visit and that is good I am sure. I tried to study the situation between him and me from here on out and it is hard to figure with so many relatives and being 500 miles away - I think it is sort of useless but we can give it a try. It is pretty easy to be replaced by people that you see every day and I expect I need his friendship a hell of lot more than he needs mine. I probably represent a full wallet and an easy convince. Oh Well, it has been an experience and it has made my life fuller in lots of ways - if nothing more than fantasy pipe dream. THe Most Positive Memorable Moment today was the guard wondering where my wife was. I guess it is sort of hard to be a grandfather without a grandmother:) | ||
