The money situation remains a worry. I will be looking around for anything that will cut me a little slack. I should be getting some around the 3rd. I will try to find something cheap tonight. Need to get Michael a microwave and some kind of frig, coffe pot, and lay in a supply of food.
I left at about five forty and arrived in Portland around eight forty-five. My bladder was very active so I hit Carl Jr's and then called Michael. He said he was just getting up and he came over and we had some breakfast. He looked cold so I mentioned getting a jacket. Michael had found out that Katie was in San Francisco and should be on the bus headed to Oregon. Michael was pretty well ready to leave the Unicorn so we went to Executive Lodge in downtown and got a room for $220 with microwave and frig - it looked clean in a pretty fair neighborhood. We then went by Annie's and picked up Mikey for some together time. Mikey did not have a lot to say to me. We were looking for Ross' but settled for Fred Meyer . I was either using or hunting a restroom all day. Mikey and I sort of wandered around and Michael select a coat that cost $60.00 (He said it was the best coat he ever owned). We also got a coffee maker and some coffee and makings. By that time Mikey was hungry so we hit Burgerville and they had skakes and a cookie for Mikey (cheeseburger later). Michael was in the shitter with an upset stomach. Then we headed to a park where Mikey played with various kids and us. After an hour and half we headed to Unicorn so Michael could get in work clothes. Mikey wanted to hang out with me but it was too cold to swim in outdoor pool. Michael called Annie and she said for a short time he could hang out with me. I told him that i could look for a motel with an indoor pool or head for home. He had made it clear that Frankie (an Ex-con buddie) would help him move. I was not exactly sure what Annie had on her mind so I decided to talk to her myself and get some swimming stuff for MIkey. She saw no problems - she had my phone number and said come back whenever. I looked downtown for a covered pool but finally found one for $80.00 at the other end of Sandy. MIkey was okay with it and he swam around and messed around in the hot tub for a couple hours. But he was mainly concerned about picking up Michael. I finally coaxed him out with a Burger King promise and then home and maybe something on Sunday. I drove 82nd avenue and could not find a Burger King so settled for McDonald and got lost trying to find Powell. FInally got on 39th and found Powell and took Mikey home. He said to be sure to tell his dad that he loved him and to call him. Annie was okay and not the least upset. MIkey disappeared into the bathroom and I got a hug from Annie and left. I stopped by the station and told Michael I would take him to theUnicorn after work - 13 minutes. He and Frankie showed up and I took them to the motel. He wanted to know what I was going to do and I said go to bed. I came back to the Comfort Inn. I feel like I will not be making this trip much more. I think Michael is getting the idea that I am getting near the end. I think he has a few other interests so that is all very well. I guess my feelings are going through some development as well. I intend to tell him tomorrow I may or may not be back next weekend. But I wont be stuck in that trailer he can bet his life on that.
His money is fucked up and I am going to have to get him through a few days and make sure he makes his fine payment. I was a little bit dismayed to learn that he had been letting other people use his phone during the day. He says Lizzy wanted to go out tonight but he thought it would be once a month thing. He talked about the tanning business but I did not give him any encouragement.
The Most Memorable Positive Moment was being around Michael. |
