It is foggy this morning I hope that is not a harbinger of things to come. I hate fog. The phone bill is still running high. I expect that I need to warn Kate to cut back. We are about 62 minutes ahead of the goal. I have her bus tickets that should be showing up soon. I wonder if I will hear from Mikey today.  I may give Annie a little tickler – I wish it were a cow prod in the ass. I need to be in a better mood around the scale house that is for sure. Tomorrow is payday and I need to get some money to Nolan and of course, I need something for Robert.

I sent messages to Michael’s mom and Annie. Lynn responded with a pretty long note about a Wes Davis and some artwork that they had. I am sure that I got all that I wanted. She said she was going to call Mikey tonight. I am not sure what I am going to do. The message from Annie was brief and something about the video showing up and Mikey was excited. No mention of the fact that he had not called me. I guess if I don’t hear from him I will be cutting things off and see if that gets their attention. They are real witches when it comes to working someone over. I ran on to the letter that Michael wrote me that he was Italian.

 I wrote a letter to Roger and to Michael’s mom going over the Italian bit. I got a call from Joel this afternoon and I sort of filled him in on the details of the deal in Grants Pass. He said he could not talk to his mother because she had not paid the phone bill. Man, that woman is a case. I don’t see how she keeps her job. I’ll be willing to bet that she does not visit Joel in November.

I had a call from Nolan and he was all interested that Wes had quit Marlette and was working on his own with some other contractor. He said they were over in Idaho. I am sure he was thinking about what he was going to do when he got out. He said Stan and Rex were going into business in Colorado working the diseased trees and he wanted in on the game and got a cool reception.

I called Mikey and Annie answered. She said he was over at Tugboat’s. She said she was taking the day off tomorrow to get ready for Halloween – certainly appropriate for a witch. He is supposed to call me – we will see if he does.

Mikey called and he is going to call tomorrow after school he said. The video would not fit in his player which is a bummer. I am going to check with Annie tomorrow. He sounded all right but I need to keep after him and let him know that I want to hear from him.
