Thursday ThanksgivingNovember 22, 2007

This is Thanksgiving Day and I slept as late as I could. There was a message from Michael’s mom that she was in a better mood after I sent her the most recent development with Mikey. I need to get the stuff in the Expedition straightened out and get something to eat eventually. I probably will not accept an invitation from Wes if it comes. No bigee one way or the other. It is neither the first nor probably the last one alone. I wish old Michael was around and we could celebrate together – but it was not to be I guess. Here is wishing old Joel the best he can get under the circumstances. I hope the renter gets around to paying his bill today so I can pay a few things off – like a credit cards (HE DIDN'T).

Not a very productive day. I wrote a letter to Nolan and washed some clothes. I ate lunch at Sharis’ and bought a pie at Safeway. I had a call from Nancy – actually Peyton made the call and then I talked to Nancy. I guess she had a successful Thanksgiving dinner. Then Ellen called and I talked to her, Tevin, Mandi and Gary. They all had a good dinner but they also had six inches of snow. It was like 9 above this morning. I put in a call to Mikey but I got the voice mail. I had a couple of text messages from Katie and an email from Michael’s mom. No word whatsoever from Wes. I am not sure why. We seem to be drifting further apart. I guess we just have too much going on in our own lives to care much about what is happening to the other person. Sort of sad but true.

Man, I was reading a letter  I got from Michael a year ago today and he was making all those plans to be home for Thanksgiving. He had a lump from a bruise that he got from Wes pounding him. Now I sort of remember Wes. I put in a call to Mikey and got voice mail. He finally called me after nine o’clock and said he had been at a cousin’s for Thanksgiving. He was playing with six little kids younger than him. I told him I was coming to visit him on Saturday and when I asked him what we were going to do he said it was a surprise. I joshed him around and finally sent him off to bed. A pretty good day -really I just wished I could have shared it with Michael in person. He is probably around
