| The wind is blowing hard and I heard the rain in the night. Thanks goodness there is no power down yet. Just got a warning that the high winds will last until midnight. There should be at least six containers going out today plus all the end of month reports are going to be due. I need to get a letter to some of the inmates and send a little money along so they will have something for Christmas. I need to check on the term of my EOT Communications contract. I should notify The TriCities Herald that they still owe me some money. I need a Powerball ticket today as well. I may be running low on gasoline too. It was better when I was gassing up on the weekend then I did not have to do it after work.
It was a busy day with all the reports and work to get done at the beginning of the month. We got out the six containers on time. Tom was sick but came in and hung around the scale house for a while. I paid some bills and wrote a letter to Bobby. Another guy wrote me from Mississippi who wants to hear from me. He liked the jokes which was pretty good and he wrote me some and that was nice.
I got a couple of emails from Michael's Mom. She said they took Dom home last night and he just started to quietly cry. Man, I could hardly think of anything else all afternoon. Then she wrote again in the afternoon that the little girl she was watching was drinking cough medicine and had to get some medical help. I think she just wanted to talk to some one. It turns out that Michael had another pen pal - is that the one from Minnesota?
I called Katie and got voice mail. I called Annie and Mikey came on. He said he did not have school today but he was going tomorrow. I asked him about the book and he suddenly remembered he had received it but he already had a copy of it so he gave it o his sister. Her name is Lexi and she lives farther away than Hermiston. Danged if that is not a new one on me. I think he felt he had gone too far because he said I better go now cause there is some funny stuff on TV. We went through the ritual and he was gone. |
