My daily thoughts and activities - to more or less help bring my thoughts together and maybe think things through better. It should be interesting to look at later.

Saturday - Grants PassDecember 23, 2007

I got up fairly early and made out a to do list. I got the bank to unlock my account. A hundred dollars had been transferred – damn. I will get my stuff together here pretty quickly. I need to get the renter deal together and collect up the food I am taking. I will get my clothes and equipment all packed and then take a look at the roads and see if things are going to be okay. It is still a couple of hours before sunup so there is no particular hurry. I know Mikey is going to be antsy but we will move when we can.

I made it to Portland without much trouble. There were snowflakes at The Dalles and rain the rest of the way. Mikey and Katie were standing outside when I got there. I was obviously not getting in the house. I gave Katie the money and card for Annie. We got some gas and headed out stopping in Woodburn for a McDonald treat and then on to a rest stop or two. It was a good trip. He stayed buckled for a while and then he was all over the seat and practically in the front seat. We finally get to Grants Pass and I have trouble finding the house. We end up there and he plays his little trick and all is good. They feed me supper and there is good conversation. Just getting acquainted really. We ate in the living room on TV trays. It was okay and they are good people and probably the salt of the earth. I am concerned about Mikey and the deal he is living in right now. Annie has Bernie and it sounded as if Jonah was there and Katie was afraid he would take something out of her purse. She looked like she had beat up with a black eye. She said she got it when she fell against a table. Mike started to tell a couple of things and then said I don’t want to talk about it. He told me he did not believe in Santa Claus or God. He talked a little about Michael and said he was just trying to push him out of his mind. That really made me sad. I think it could be better.
