My daily thoughts and activities - to more or less help bring my thoughts together and maybe think things through better. It should be interesting to look at later.

Sunday SwitcherooJanuary 13, 2008

I slept pretty good. I had some weird dreams about being in a new house. I got an email from MM. I guess she read my message late last night. She like the story about the day with Mikey. I am not sure what is going to happen tonight. I will wait around for his call and then I may go home. It sort of depends on what develops. Who know what Katie will come up with?

Mikey called at nine o’clock and said he had to go to the parity right then. I could tell he was really upset. I told him if it was going to be all day, I would head home and we would start over in two weeks. He kept saying no. So I said okay I’ll wait until I hear from you. He said please do. After a couple of hours I called Annie and wanted to know her assessment of the situation. She said that Katie said he had to go because she had made reservation and she did not know he was going to be with me. She said that Mikey was very angry about the whole thing. She said she would call me the minute Mikey got back, which she thought, would be shortly after lunch. I said okay. I went to WalMart and checked into some shorts and socks because he never brings an extra pair to swimming. Then put his pants over the wet shorts, which could lead to pneumonia in this weather. Anyway one thing leads to another and I added a long sleeved tee shirt, sweat pants, and a sweat jacket. They were green and silver and looked okay I guess. I got a small duffle bag since all his stuff is getting strung around my car and left to be brought back to Hermiston. At twelve thirty he calls and I told him I would be right there. He was obviously pretty happy. When I got to Annie’s she came out and sort of explained the situation. She said she had kicked Katie out and would not let her back into the house until she was under a doctor’s care and had some rehab. Mikey was ten feet away and listening. I got the envelop with the $45.00 Safeway card and said I had been giving Katie $65.00 every two weeks as a payment of Michael’s child support for Mikey. She blinked and Mikey was still listening. I told her I had insisted when she took money from me last time it was to be used strictly for Mikey and not cigarettes, booze, and drugs. That touched off a tirade. She said she was too lenient but Bernard had a better handle on things and insisted that Jonah stay away and that Katie was not welcome as long as she was on drugs. She said if she tried to take Mikey she was prepared to go to court saying she was mentally unfit as a mother. She says you know Mikey only has me, Lynn, and you and we cannot let her destroy him. Mikey had disappeared. I said okay.

Mike re-appeared and he wanted to go swimming again so we headed toward the community Center. We stayed for three hours and I was waffled-bottomed and Mikey was granny-faced. Katie called and wanted Mikey to call when he was dried off. He did and got voiced mail. I called back and left a message. We grabbed a sandwich and headed toward Annie's. It was now around six o’clock. Mikey wants to know if I want to hear a song. Wow – another wailing song about grandpa going to Hermiston and leaving Mikey in Portland. Got me again! He fiddled around twenty minutes trying to figure out ways to keep me around. It was not an easy exit. Well, I’ll call him tomorrow.
