I got up early and hit the road by six oclock and got to the thirty minute mark ahead of time. I read the paper and called Mikey and he was packed. I went on into his house and he came out to meet me. I took Annie her plants and they were friendly enough. Mikey could hardly wait to get away. As soon as we left he was into his troubles at school. He tried not to make too much of them. We stopped at McDonalds and he found some school mates he did not like. He was all over the car and never did seat belt up. We stopped at McDonalds again and he was out of the play area just sort of hiding out. We made the trip on into GP with out much fuss or whatever.
As soon as we got here there was the deal about the school. He could not go back unless his mother went with him. She was nowhere around and Annie was mumbling about moving to Eugene. The whole thing does not look very good for Mikey. I wished that he could stay here in GP. I think he would do all right even though they are very lenient and people sort of do whatever. I asked MM specifically about how far Katie could be trusted. She hummed and hawed.
John and Mikey swam for a while and then back for a hamburger and the evening ended coloring eggs. I know that Mikey had fun and that he really likes being here. I slept okay but it is a sort of sickening affair that I cannot get out of my mind |
