I woke up cold around six and got some things done while I waited for Mikey to wake up and get going. I figured I would let him sleep as long as possible since I didn’t want to take him home all worn out. I am not looking forward to the trip back from Eugene but I expect it will be just as tough on him in some ways. He may grieve some. I think he thinks more than I give him credit for. In some ways he acts strange and does things that can disconcert me at times. I am not sure he has ever had anyone like me in his life before. It is good that he is getting a little bit different perspective on things. I think I love him beyond anything I have experienced before. Maybe it is because he pretty well accepts me though I am old and somewhat repulsive even to generous hearts. We need to get some things this morning such as the gloves and a backpack for his clothes. We need to decide what kind of stipend card he needs this week. |
